My Pictures

The text below is about a decade out of date. Since writing it, I have taken photographs of World Superbike and MotoGP weekends and updated my camera to a Canon EOS 6D and a L-series 70-300mm lens.

I have photos on https://www.flickr.com/photos/jaredearle/ and most of them are available under Creative Commons under a by-nc-nd license.

I am a huge fan of digital photography and started getting to grips with it using a Panasonic Lumix FZ20, which may not be the best camera when there is not enough light and needs higher ISOs but it really comes into its own when light isn’t an issue. A few years ago, I switched to a Canon EOS 400D and I use three lenses in it: stock 17-55mm, 50mm f1.8 and a 55-250mm. All my lenses are of the cheaper variety for now, but here’s hoping I can invest more into this hobby in the future. Other photos are taken with my iPhone 3GS, but they tend to be less permanent, unsurprisingly.

I have evolved into shooting mainly in raw for single photos, or JPEGs for HDR images. Practically everything I post on Flickr has visited Photoshop at some point in its life.

Please comment on any photos you like over on Flickr.
